Also you can have General Anxiety without actively thinking about the thing which gives you stress most of the time! Like just a constant sense of dread that something bad is going to happen, even if you’re not thinking about the thing which gives you the bad thoughts. Like a constant sense that you’re about to die which prevents you sleeping etc.
An aside! OCD can also be obsessions, not just compulsions! Like being trapped in a thought-cycle over and over and unable to get out. It can lead to compulsions or to other disordered behavior.
